Microsoft Exchange 2010 on Dell Systems: Simple Distributed Configurations

4,000 Mailboxes, up to 1GB each, on PowerEdge R720xd

This reference architecture utilizes the Multi-role server and storage ―bricks‖ with internal storage. It

has been sized to provide mailbox sizes of up to 1GB each. The Mailbox IO profile is sized for up to 150

messages per mailbox per day with 20% IO headroom to accommodate up to 0.18 IOPs per mailbox. This

solution delivers high availability using Exchange 2010 mailbox resiliency with a two copy Database

Availability Group (DAG). Both the active and passive copies are local. This solution does not offer site

resiliency.
